I was unable to attend the mushroom festival this fall. It was the first one in 7 years that I missed. They are pretty much the same from one year to the next but the people watching and mingling is something I love to do. The local collage has a booth that serves up some fine gourmet dishes using the mushrooms that our club picked the weekend before . You can purchase mushroom kits and grow your own. I did that one year with some oyster mushroom, they were delicious in my pasta and egg dishes. You can also dye yarns and cloth with them but that is a little to stinky for me.
Their are some nice plants for sale that local hobbyist have grown for the show. I bought a cactus two years ago and it look great in my bathroom window next to my orchid.
